What’s the difference between hemp seed oil and CBD?

You might think hemp seed oil and CBD are similar, but the two oils are very distinct.

Hemp seed oil could not be MORE DIFFERENT than CBD oil. The two oils are derived from different plant species and different parts of the plant. They have different chemical structures and serve different functions. Hemp seeds do not contain cannabinoids.

In 2018, the FDA designated hemp grain derived foods as GRAS, or Generally Recognized As Safe. Hemp seeds are high in protein, fiber and magnesium. Hempy's Heart Hemp Seed Oil is vegan, non-GMO and well balanced in omegas 3 & 6. Perfect for vinaigrettes, salad dressing, dipping oil, pasta and more, the flavor is rich and nutty with an earthy finish. What it lacks in psychoactive effects, hemp seed oil makes up for with nutritional benefits.

Hempy's Heart hemp seed foods come from only hemp grains and do NOT contain any THC. Hemp seed flour or protein powder is a pure, gluten free grain–perfect for cooking or consuming in coffee or smoothies.

Industrial hemp production is similar to traditional agricultural crop production in many ways. Like wheat, corn, soybeans, sorghum and other crops commonly grown in Kansas, industrial hemp grown for grain is seeded directly in the ground in early spring and harvested with a combine in late summer or early fall.

CBD, THC and other cannabinoids are concentrated in the flower produced by female plants grown in greenhouse conditions. While also a noble endeavor and beneficial element of this generous plant, this growing process is very different from the direct-seed method used on farms across Kansas for hemp grain production. Cannabinoid dominant varieties thrive in horticultural environments and are easily distinguishable from industrial hemp grown for grain and fiber.

The nutritional benefits of eating hemp grains are many! Packed full of protein, fiber, omegas and other nutrients, hemp grains are the latest, greatest superfood! Hemp grain foods are high in healthy fats, protein, magnesium, vitamin E, calcium, iron, zinc and other minerals. Gluten-free and low in carbohydrates, Hemp Seed Protein Powder, also called hemp seed flour, contains no cholesterol or saturated fats. Hempy's Heart Hemp Seed Oil is produced through solventless extraction.
